If you tuned into Gino's Jungle last season you probably noticed a post or two about the Maine Red Claws every now and then. Being that the Red Claws are the D-League affiliate of the Boston Celtics we feel obligated to bring you - the fan - information regarding what is going on up in Portland.
This season the Red Claws will be embarking on their second full season as an NBDL franchise and we at Gino's Jungle are going to be involved more than ever covering the team. We plan to go out to team event's, release all press releases we are forwarded from the team, and cover as many games as possible live from the Portland Expo.
Today the Red Claws organization announced a partnership they are involved in with the company America runs on... Dunkin Donuts. Throughout the month of April the Red Claws will be putting over 1,200 miles on their caravan by making stops at thirteen different Dunkin Donuts locations throughout Maine.
So what are they going to be doing at one of America's favorite coffee stops? They will be setting up 90-minute basketball clinics led by none other than last night's guest on The Celtics Late Night Show, and Maine Red Claws head coach, Austin Ainge. There is no pre-registration neccesary and the best part is that the clinics will be absoloutely free!

In their second season as a franchise the Red Claws are not only taking care of business on the court, but in the community as well. “The Red Claws proudly wear “Maine” across the front of our jerseys, and as Maine’s team, we thought this was a great opportunity to visit fans across the state, many of whom may have only had the opportunity to see us on television. Kids will have the opportunity to learn skills from a professional basketball coach, and we will have the opportunity to meet the fans who have supported us in our inaugural season. It’s a wonderful program and a great collaboration with Dunkin’ Donuts," said Red Claws President and General Manager, Jon Jennings.
If you're within driving distance from one of these Dunkin Donuts locations and have a young child I strongly encourage you to go check this event out. As we found out last night, Austin Ainge is a terrific guy and one of the best young teachers of the game of basketball today.
